Windows and Mirrors on the Fiske Library Bookshelf: Home


Children should be able to see their identity reflected in the books they read (mirrors), to see people like themselves. Equally important is that children are able to read about others different from themselves (windows) to understand, respect, and appreciate the cultures and identities of others.
