Digital Citizenship lessons have been taught to Bowman School students for the past several years, starting with Grade 5 and gradually adding lessons in the lower grades. Ms. Loof, Library Teacher at Bowman School, provided students with guidance and tips regarding Internet Safety. For the 2016/2017 school year the Digital Citizenship curriculum has been expanded to all six elementary schools and includes all grade levels. Guided by the Massachusetts Technology Literacy Standards, lessons were selected from the Common Sense Media curriculum. Lessons were vertically aligned to review and reinforce the content determined to be the most important for our K-5 students. The curriculum is now a collaborative effort between library teachers, classroom teachers, counselors and ITS staff.
