Digital Citizenship - Parent Resources: Home

Overview

Digital Citizenship lessons have been taught to Bridge School students for the past 7 years, starting with Grade 5 and gradually adding lessons in the lower grades. The original curriculum was piloted by Bridge and Hastings library teachers and counselors, using Common Sense Media lessons. The Digital Citizenship curriculum has been expanded to all six elementary schools and includes all grade levels. Guided by the Massachusetts Technology Literacy Standards, lessons were again selected from the Common Sense Media curriculum. Lessons were vertically aligned to review and reinforce the content determined to be the most important for our K-5 students. The curriculum is now a collaborative effort between library teachers, classroom teachers, counselors and ITS staff.
